CNOOC Development's self-developed equipment has completed the cleaning operation of 100000 cubic meters of large-scale storage tanks

On March 16th, CNOOC Development Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. successfully completed the mechanical cleaning operation of a 100000 cubic meter large storage tank. This operation applied the company's independently developed mechanical cleaning device for the first time, achieving a "zero breakthrough" in the cleaning technology of storage tanks of this scale and promoting the transformation of large-scale oil and gas storage tank operation and maintenance towards intelligent cleaning.
As the core equipment for oil and gas storage and transportation, the cleaning and maintenance quality of large storage tanks directly affects storage safety and equipment lifespan. The traditional manual cleaning mode has pain points such as low operational efficiency, high labor costs, and prominent risks in confined space operations. The self-developed mechanical cleaning device used in this application forms a closed circulation system by temporarily laying pipelines and storage tanks, and uses cleaning oil and hot water for mechanical cleaning and blowing.
After testing, all indicators of the cleaned storage tank meet the safety standards for hot work and maintenance operations. Data shows that compared to traditional manual cleaning, the operating efficiency of this device has been improved by 50%, and the recovery rate of available components in the tank bottom sludge has been increased to over 94%, truly achieving the goal of "people cannot clean the tank, gas cannot go up to the sky, and oil cannot fall to the ground", eliminating the safety and environmental risks of confined space operations from the source, and providing a replicable solution for efficient operation and maintenance of large storage tanks in the same industry in China.
